It really shouldn't be that difficult of a concept for football players: You want to hold onto the football through the goal line beyond any doubt.
Players know the risks, but it still happens. And the premature celebration claimed yet another victim on Sunday afternoon.
During the Week 5 matchup between the Cardinals and Titans, sparingly used backup running back Emari Demercado broke free through the line on third down and was off to the races. Demercado looked like he was destined for an untouched, 72-yard touchdown run, but we could see the complete lack of awareness unfold as he approached the end zone.
